Review of Undercover by Lauren Dane

Undercover

Berkley Heat

Genre: Futuristic, Erotic Romance, Menage, BDSM

A sexy debut exploring an erotic future universe of passion, danger, and deceit…
On the battleground or in the bedroom, one woman and two men fight for dominance in a bold, new, and excitingly different direction in erotica…

As a lieutenant of the Federation military, Sera Ayers is accustomed to giving orders, not taking them. Now she must obey the one man she can’t stand—and can’t stop thinking about.
With the enemy Imperialists gaining ground, a covert team is assembled by Ash Walker. Ten years before, Sera had lovingly submitted to Ash’s dominance in the bedroom. But when he was forced into a political marriage, she refused to play mistress. His marriage now over, Ash wants Sera on his team—and back in his bed.

The third team member, Brandt Pela, has an elegance to match Ash’s savage sexuality. And when their undercover plan requires Sera to pose as Brandt’s lover, it ignites a passion among the three of them more dangerous than their mission.

Undercover is set in a different world where citizens are classified by a class ranking. If you’re one of the fortunate ones, you have a ranking within that society. Women, especially have no way of getting a ranking, so Sera joins the military. She obtains the rank of Sub Commander through hard work and dedication.

When getting ready for a new assignment, she runs into the one man she’s always loved – Ash. He broke her heart into a million pieces and it almost destroyed her. But that breakup also gave her the incentive to be the best she could be, and to devote her life to military service.
Ash left her years ago to marry a woman his family had arranged for him. He was forced to leave Sera, the woman he truly loved, to fulfill a family obligation. That obligation has ended, his divorce was final and the ex-wife has married his cousin. And now Ash is now free to pursue Sera.

Ash has recruited Sera for this new assignment along with his partner Brandt. They are attempting to gather information about some other higher ranking society members and they need a woman to pose as their concubine. Sera has no choice but to accept this mission.
Ash, Sera and Brandt are certainly not a typical military group. This mission is difficult for Sera because of her past with Ash, but now things start to heat up with Brandt. Finding the criminal among all these “ranked” people requires a lot more than they bargained for. Sera is a kick-ass heroine and I really liked Brandt. Their chemistry is smokin’ hot. I found that I didn’t like Ash at first, but Ms. Dane really showed his motivations and his emotions that were totally believable. By the end of the book, I really liked him. The three of them together was explosive. This book has some super hot sex scenes and it’s just a great read all around.

This book is one of my favorite Lauren Dane creations. I can’t recommend it highly enough – get your copy today!
